It's just a hazard of user-created content.Īlmraiven and its sequel, Shadewood, are some really nicely designed exploration-heavy modules for arcane casters. Combat in mods is often not balanced all that well. Given the nature of modding, bugs happen. The Tortured Hearts series seems like a solid, more open-ended RPG. At one point you could probably avoid the sex, but you sure can't anymore. The series still gets revamped heavily every 6-12 months. The story is decent, but sexual in nature. NWN isn't the best engine to do this with, so it's to the module's credit that it works well. Kind of intensely so, particularly in the first half. Also the combat is horribly balanced prepare to cheat.ĭance with Rogues is a heavily stealth and skill oriented series. It's quasi-historical, based on medieval Germany, Burgandy, and France. Also the third part is basically just an excuse to throw in a bunch of exposition that I didn't understand. The Bastard of Kosigan series (Or is it Exile of the West? I can't remember which is the name) is a pretty good multi-part series, but as yet it hasn't all been translated into English. It's a very large, three-part campaign series with a lot of political intrigue, some quasi-Arthurian stuff, and a slightly goofy and naughty sense of humor. The Enigma Isle series by Proleric was pretty good. There are so many out there, I'm sure I'll miss some.
